The Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan (PotashCorp) will be matching all cash donations, up to $500,000, to food banks in the province.
The money will be used to help provide food hampers through the holiday season.
“The holiday season brings people together and food is an important part of that celebration,” PotashCorp CEO president Jochen Tilk said.
“Our matching gift program encourages people to share in that sense of community and to remember that we are all part of a bigger family in a province that cares.”

The Saskatoon Food Bank has as many as 21,000 people coming through its doors each month, and being able to provide service comes with a lot of pressure.
“That just shows that the economy is difficult for people and that more people are struggling,” Laurie O’Connor, the executive director of the Saskatoon Food Bank, said.
“We’re not seeing the same number of people exiting our systems, so lots of new people are using our services and not a lot of people are moving away from using our services”
O’Connor added that 45 per cent of people relying on the Saskatoon Food Bank are children.
