TORONTO – Police shut down a downtown Toronto intersection (at Bay Street and Adelaide Street West) Wednesday after glass fell from the Trump Tower.
Const. Tony Vella says several cars were damaged but no injuries reported after glass fell from the building at about 4:10 p.m.
Trump International Hotel and Tower Toronto spokeswoman Dorenda McNeil says a glass panel from the 34th floor of the building fell during construction work.
She says the panel appears to have been dropped by a worker during installation.
McNeil says Trump Toronto management is working with police to investigate the cause.
Vella says it could take some time before the streets are reopened.
“Our main concern is your safety. We need to render the area safe first,” he said.
