WATCH ABOVE: RCMP say a Saskatchewan hunter came across a gruesome discovery on the first day of deer hunting season in the province. On Sunday, Warman RCMP were called after the hunter found human remains in the Swanson district just south of Delisle. Meaghan Craig reports – Nov 21, 2016

Human remains have been found by a hunter near Swanson, Sask.

The discovery was made Sunday around noon in the RM of Montrose.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place on Monday to determine the cause of death and to identify the remains.

Warman RCMP, along with members of the major crimes unit – north, the Saskatoon forensic identification services and the Chief Coroner’s office continue to investigate.

No other details are being released by police at this time.

Swanson is approximately 70 kilometres southwest of Saskatoon.
