Police call suspicious death north of Swift Current, Sask. a homicide

A suspicious death north of Swift Current, Sask. is being called a homicide after a body was found in a parking lot at Saskatchewan Landing provincial park. Darrell Patton/Global News

Police are treating a suspicious death at Saskatchewan Landing provincial park north of Swift Current, Sask., as a homicide.

Logan Curtis Ring, 21, was found dead Thursday morning in the parking lot of the Rings, Ruts and Remnants Interpretive Trail located on the south shore of Lake Diefenbaker in the park.

Ring was found near a blue 1991 Ford Explorer registered in his name.

A cause of death has not been released.

Members of the Saskatchewan RCMP major crime unit – south are asking for help with their investigation.

They would like to speak with anyone who has information on Ring’s activities or whereabouts prior to his death.

Investigators are also looking for descriptions of activity, people and vehicles in the area of the park from Nov. 14-17.

On Nov. 24, police said it is believed Ring may have been in or around the Swift Current area in the evening or early morning of Nov. 16-17.

Police added that Ring commonly wore his red curly hair in a ponytail.

Saskatchewan Landing provincial park is approximately 50 kilometres north of Swift Current.
