Job action by members of Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 615 will affect a number of Saskatoon Transit routes on Thursday afternoon.
City officials said drivers are refusing to overtime and with the current work to rule campaign, there are delays, cancellations and overcrowding on some buses.
Transit has cancelled the following buses on school routes:
- Route 23 – servicing Tommy Douglas leaving at 1:55 p.m. Students will have to catch the next Route 23.
- Route 23 – servicing Bethlehem High School at 3:35 p.m. Students will be required to catch the next Route 23.
- Route 315 and 341 – servicing Mount Royal and Bedford Road at 2:35 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. Students will have to catch Route 5.
- Route 334 – servicing Walter Murray and Aden Bowman at 2:25 p.m. Students will have to catch Route 81.
- Route 339 and 348 – servicing Tommy Douglas leaving at 1:55 p.m.Students will have to catch Route 23.
- Route 341 and 342 – servicing Bedford Road and Mount Royal leaving Bedford Road at 2:40 p.m. Students will have to catch Route 5.
- Route 342 – servicing E.D. Feehan at 3:25 p.m. Students will have to catch Route 5.
- Route 346 and 348 – leaving Bethlehem High School at 3:35 p.m. Students will have to catch Route 23.
- Route 352 – servicing St. Joseph at 3:35 p.m. Students will have to catch Route 40.
- Route 356 – servicing Marion Graham at 2:25 p.m. Students will have to catch Route 35.
- Route 507 – servicing Bethlehem High School leaving at 3:55 p.m. Students will have to catch Route 23.

Transit officials also said the following buses on regular routes have been cancelled for Thursday afternoon:
- Route 20 South Industrial Special – leaving at 5:06 p.m.
- Route 22 Montgomery via Confederation – leaving the Downtown Terminal at 3:29 p.m., 4:59 p.m. and 5:29 p.m.
- Route 22 Montgomery – leaving the Confederation Terminal at 3:29 p.m.
- Route 23 Blairmore – leaving Confederation Mall at 3:47 p.m.
- Route 101 University Direct – at 2:40 p.m. Passengers will be required to catch Route 50 Lakeview or Route 55 Lakeridge.
- Route 102 University Direct – at 2:35 p.m. Passengers will be required to catch Route 50 Lakeview or Route 55 Lakeridge.
- Abilities Council Special #1 – Passengers will have to catch Route 19 City Centre or Route 1 City Centre.
- City Centre Special – leaving Saskatchewan Polytechnic at 3:07 p.m. Passengers will have to catch Route 7, Route 30 or Route 35.
Higher passenger volumes are expected on other routes resulting in full buses:
- Route 2 Meadowgreen – between 3:44 p.m. and 5:44 p.m.
- Route 4 Willowgrove Square – between 2:20 p.m. and 5:20 p.m.
- Route 5 McComack – between 3:16 p.m. and 5:16 p.m.
- Route 6 Market Mall – between 1:32 p.m. and 5:35 p.m.
- Route 45 Kenderdine – between 3:37 p.m. and 5:37 p.m.
- Route 55 Lakeridge – between 2:35 p.m. and 5:35 p.m.
- Route 82 – between 3:44 p.m. and 5:44 p.m.
Transit officials said they forced to reduce bus frequencies on some routes in response to the refusal of transit drivers to work overtime.

Access Transit is not affected as it is an essential service.
