A man is in hospital suffering from several stab wounds after an altercation late Friday evening, Ridge Meadows RCMP confirmed Monday.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the 11900 block of Bonson Road in Pitt Meadows at approximately 11:45 p.m. Friday, where they found the victim in serious condition. The man was immediately transported to hospital and is undergoing care.

Investigators are still gathering evidence, but have so far learned that the victim was involved in an altercation with a group of people shortly before being stabbed. Police said Monday that a search of the immediate area has “resulted in key evidence being located.” Police have yet to disclose what that evidence is.
