Lottery ticket worth $1K a day for life sold in Edmonton

If you recently purchased a ticket for Canada’s newest lottery, the Daily Grand, you may want to check your numbers. The winning ticket for the Nov. 10 draw was purchased in Edmonton.

The prize for the new lottery is $1,000 per day for life.

“We’re thrilled that Canada’s very first Daily Grand top prize was won in our region,” Andrea Marantz, a spokesperson for Western Canadian Lottery Corporation, said in a release Monday.

“A thousand dollars a day – every day – is such a unique prize. We can’t wait to hear about our winner’s plans.”

The new lottery launched in late October. Nov. 10 was the lottery’s seventh draw and the first with a top-prize win.

The winning numbers from the Nov. 10 draw were: 1, 11, 16, 46 and 48. The grand number was 5.

The prize was one of a few big lottery wins in Alberta over the weekend. A ticket purchased somewhere in Alberta – excluding Edmonton and Calgary – won the $50=million Lotto Max jackpot in the Nov. 11 draw. Another Lotto Max ticket, purchased in Alberta but outside Edmonton and Calgary, won nearly $1.3 million in the same draw.

Lottery tickets can be checked using the WCLC’s lottery manager app, at a local lottery retailer or by phoning the WCLC at 1-800-665-3313.
