With high tides predicted over the next few days, and a so-called “King Tide” forecast for Sunday – there are concerns that homes and businesses in low-lying areas could be flooded. More than 100 property owners have been told to prepare for flooding.
“We’re definitely getting a little worried,” Krista Card, manager of Campbell River Lodge, said. “The river is right up to our bank on the back side of the property and it eventually could take over the hotel and the beer store. It’s definitely getting nerve-wracking.
“I’ve never seen it this high in the nine years I’ve been here.”
