RECALL: Britax Child Safety Inc. car seats

Britax Child Safety Inc. is recalling about 60,000 car seats because children can bite off a piece of the harness pad and choke on it.

The recall covers Boulevard 65-G3, Pavilion 65-G3, and Advocate 65-G3 convertible (infant/child) car seats in Canada manufactured between June 1, 2012 and August 31, 2012.

U.S. regulators say the seats were made with softer chest pad material that can be bitten off and chewed by children.

Britax says in a letter to the government that it has three reports of children biting off pieces and gagging on them.

Britax will send new pads for free to about 3,000 people who registered seats.

Other owners can call (888) 427-4829.
