UPDATE: Prince Albert, Sask. hospital returns to normal after bed bugs found in emergency

Bed bugs have been found in the emergency department of Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, Sask.

Officials with the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region said the discovery is causing a disruption in services.

Two areas in the emergency department will not be available until they are thoroughly cleaned and no more bed bugs are found, which could take several hours.

Officials said the disruption may lead to longer wait times in the emergency department and patients may have to be moved to other units in the hospital.

They are urging people with non-urgent concerns to contact their family doctor or go to a walk-in clinic.
