A Kansas boy has realized internet fame after he wore a politically and follicle-ly inspired Donald Trump costume for Halloween.

Gage DeVader could have easily gone trick-or-treating as a Donald Trump look-a-like, but that would have been too cliché. So, instead, he went as the Republican presidential candidate’s most recognizable physical feature — nope, not his hands.

“Gage is in fifth grade, so I wanted to do something really funny and really unique for this last year that he would be able to wear a costume to school,” Gage’s mom, Jessica DeVader, told KSN.

Her hairy Trump idea came to her while she was reading an article about the real estate tycoon while at the barber shop with her husband.

“I just started staring at his hair, trying to figure out what exactly was going on there when a light bulb went off. I started cracking up and my husband and hairdresser were like, ‘What is so funny?’ I said, ‘What if we have Gage just be Donald Trump’s hair!?’”

That’s when Jessica began the campaign to build her bold costume idea.

Jessica called a friend who recommended they use a golf umbrella as the base. They then glued grass table shirts to the top to portray Trump’s mastered comb-over effect.

“Then, we cut a hole at the top for [Gage’s] head to fit through,” said Jessica. “We styled the hair swooping it over and used Mod Podge to hold it in.”

They used red cardboard to create a “Make America Great” hat to rest on top of the coif. The final step was to cut a slit in the cap to allow Gage to see.

At school, many of Gage’s classmates struggled to understand what he was dressed as.

It wasn’t until they noticed the “Make America Great Again” hat that they “just realized what it is.”

Jessica said she was just hoping the costume would get a laugh from family and friends. But, the laughs went viral online after photos made it onto social media.

“I never imagined it would blow up like it has,” said Jessica.

The response and support for the wig has been “huge” for both Jessica and Gage.

“Biggest deal of my life that I’ve had so far,” said Gage.
