The victims of a devastating flood in Abbotsford are speaking out today after a water main break destroyed their home.

It happened early Saturday morning near the intersection of Marshall Road and Jackson Street.

An Abbotsford Police officer spotted the flooding while on patrol and rushed to alert and evacuate the family inside.

No one was hurt but after sitting in more than four feet of water the home will need significant restoration before they can return.

But with no insurance and nowhere to go, the family is desperate for help.

“I didn’t know what to think,” said homeowner Tracy Blyan. “It just came as a shock to us.”

A family member has set up a GoFundMe page to help the family get back on their feet.

The cause of the breakage has not been determined.
