Project Asha heads to Long Plain First Nation Saturday and Sunday

Manitoba Underdogs Rescue’s Fix It spay and neuter initiative is in Long Plain First Nation October 29 and 30.

The clinic hopes to fix 40 dogs, which costs around $10,000. However, organizers said fixing just 40 dogs will prevent over 500 puppies in just one year.

The spay/neuter initiative, dubbed Project Asha, was made possible thanks to the leftover funds left from donors wanting to help with Asha’s rehabilitation.

Asha is the puppy who was seen in a disturbing video back in July being hurled through the air and landing on the pavement.

Organizers of Project Asha said their team is spaying and neutering owned and stray dogs to try and cub the over population problem.
