Two men are dead following a Friday night crash in MacGregor, Manitoba.

On Friday evening, just after 8 p.m. Portage la Prairie RCMP were notified of a pickup truck speeding and on the wrong side of the Trans-Canada Highway.

Officers said when they arrived on scene, approximately one kilometre east of MacGregor, they found the vehicle that was said to be speeding on the wrong side of the highway.

The eastbound truck had crashed in to a westbound minivan. The 63-year-old driver of the truck and the 29-year-old driver of the van were the only occupants of both vehicles and were both pronounced dead on scene.

According to RCMP, both men were from MacGregor. Both men were wearing seatbelts. However, it is unknown if alcohol was a factor.

The RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is now assisting with the ongoing investigation.
