Bob Dylan told a U.K. newspaper he “absolutely” wants to attend the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony in December “if it’s at all possible,” finally breaking his silence about earning the prestigious honour.

The 75-year-old became the first musician to earn the Nobel Prize in Literature when it was announced earlier this month.
Though there was a brief acknowledgement online from Dylan, he was mostly silent on the subject.
Even officials from the Swedish Academy weren’t able to get in touch with him, a slight one member called “impolite and arrogant.”
However, in an interview with a U.K. newspaper posted Friday, Dylan said he was pleased with the award, adding “isn’t that something.”
Edna Gunderson of the Telegraph was supposed to interview Dylan about a new art exhibit of his, but instead the conversation turned to the prestigious prize.
“For all the speculation over the last two weeks about the reasons behind his blanket silence on the Nobel award, I can only say that he is a radical personality … and cannot be tied down, even by the Nobel Prize committee,” Gunderson wrote.
The Nobel Prize Award Ceremony takes place Dec. 10 in Stockholm.
