A 63-year-old Halton Region man faces charges after police say a 91-year-old woman under his care was found in “deplorable conditions” malnourished and wearing soiled clothes.
Emergency crews responded to a home in Georgetown, Ont., in the town of Halton Hills, after a staff member from a local Community Care and Access Centre reported an elderly woman needing medical assistance on Oct. 5.
The woman was taken to Georgetown Hospital and police said she was suffering from malnutrition, was weak, unkempt and was wearing soiled linens and clothing.
