Classes at Meath Park Public School are cancelled on Friday following a fire in the school Thursday morning.

Crews from the Meath Park, Candle Lake, Lakeland, Provincial Fire Centre and Garden River fire departments were called to the school around 11 a.m. CT.

All students and staff safely evacuated the school and no injuries were reported.

Saskatchewan Rivers School Division made arrangements to transport all the students home.

According to Smeaton RCMP, the school sustained significant smoke, water and fire damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Meath Park is approximately 180 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
