Saskatoon police execute high-risk search at Mayfair home

One person is in custody following a high-risk search by members of the Saskatoon police guns and gang and tactical support units.

Police executed the warrant Wednesday morning at a home in the 1600-block of Avenue C North in the Mayfair neighbourhood.

Officers said they found a loaded Winchester rifle, 7.75 grams of meth, 5.6 grams of marijuana and 10 fake $100 Canadian bills inside.

A 36-year-old man is facing a number of charges including possession of a weapon without a licence, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, storing a firearm in a careless manner and possession of counterfeit money.

Police continue to investigate.
