14-year-old girl dies after ATV collision near Ethelbert, Man

A 14-year-old girl has died after an ATV crashed and landed on her near the area of Ethelbert, Man., last week.

On Oct. 10, just before 1:00 p.m., Dauphin RCMP responded to a report of an ATV collision on Highway 10, around two kilometres south of Ethelbert.

A 14-year-old girl was riding the ATV southbound on the east shoulder of the highway. RCMP said it appears she lost control of the ATV, and it rolled, landing on top of her. The girl was not wearing a helmet and was taken to a hospital in Dauphin, Man. She was later transported to a Winnipeg hospital.

On Sunday, the girl died from her injuries.

RCMP are investigating the crash.
