On Sunday, Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher was asked directly on social media if she thought Trump’s sniffles were a result of cocaine use. “I’m an expert & ABSOLUTELY,” she replied.

Fisher has been very candid about her past drug abuse, including cocaine. The Princess Leia actress says that she often self-medicated to deal with an undiagnosed bipolar disorder.

Asked by Vulture at the New York Film Festival to clarify her tweet, Fisher took back the accusation, stating that it was most likely nerves causing Trump’s sniffles.

“I don’t [think he uses cocaine],” she told Vulture on Monday night. “I don’t know because every day something weirder comes out about him and more awful. But his brother was an alcoholic and died of it. I think it scared him. He says he doesn’t smoke, he doesn’t drink, he doesn’t do drugs, so he generally tells the worst truth to shock you. I know something about this, so if he did coke, he would want you to know.”

During the first presidential debate, Democrat Howard Dean suggested that Trump perhaps used cocaine because he was sniffing so much. Dean later apologized for the comment.

Trump (so far) has not accounted for his incessant sniffling, other than saying he had a defective microphone during the first debate.
