Several passing motorists stopped to help, with one swimming out to the cab of the truck, helping the driver to safety.
RCMP said the truck quickly took on water, becoming fully submerged.
The male truck driver was taken to hospital by ambulance and treated for minor injuries.
One lane of Highway 102 was shut down for several hours while crews worked to remove the truck.
The road has since re-opened.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
