Two men have been found guilty of murdering a Surrey mother nearly a decade ago.
On Saturday, a jury in New Westminster found husband Baljinder Singh Bahia guilty of first-degree murder in the slaying of wife Amanpreet Kaur Bahia, who was stabbed to death in what police called “a violent and brutal attack.”
Two of her three children were in the house at the time of the fatal attack. Her one-year-old daughter was found crying beside her body.

Burnaby man Eduard Baranec, who was hired to carry out the killing, was also found guilty of first-degree murder.
Both men now face a 25-year life sentence. Bahia has asked his lawyer to appeal the conviction.
“The person who did this, they have to pay, but this is not satisfaction,” Amanpreet’s brother Jugraj Kaslon said after the verdict. “Maybe now she will rest in peace. We lost our sister. Now we are thinking about their kids. They will never have their mother. They will never have their father.”
The trial for a third suspect, Tanpreet Kaur Athwal, will take place at a later date.
