A video posted by the Knight Inlet Lodge in Black Creek, B.C., north of Courtenay, has gone viral online because it managed to capture some unusual grizzly bear behaviour.
The video shows a young grizzly bear swimming and diving for salmon. At the end of the video, the bear is successful and catches a fish.

The operations manager, who did not want to be named, told Global News the video is unique because up until last year they never saw any bears diving for fish. Then in 2015, one bear showed up and tried to dive and catch fish.
Now this year staff at the lodge have seen four or five young grizzlies attempt the same hunting behaviour and it appears they have learned from the original bear last year.
The operations manager said some of the bears are better than others at catching salmon this way.
The video was posted to the resort’s Facebook page on Sept. 30 and has racked up nearly two million views.
It was shot by the lodge manager, Brian Collen.
