The crew arrived to see heavy smoke coming from a suite on the main floor.
The first firefighters on the scene initiated an aggressive interior attack through the front entrance. Other arriving crews searched the building for people and evacuated other suites.
The fire was contained to a vacant apartment with no extension to other units. Fire crews used ventilation fans to remove the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors ensured the building was safe for people to re-enter.
A fire investigator determined the cause of the blaze was accidental but it is still under investigation.
Damage is estimated at approximately $100,000. There were no reports of injuries.
