The Board of directors of BC Tree Fruits has announced it has served Chief Executive Officer Alan Tyabji with early notice of termination.

In a press release, the board said Tyabji will remain with the cooperative for another six weeks.

During that time, Tyabji will work with the board of directors to search for a new CEO and help with the transition.

The release also thanks Tyabji for his years of service.

Tyabji took over the position in November 2012 after a non-confidence motion ousted then-CEO Rob Dawson, a fruit grower from Kelowna.
