WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will have Ian Wild back in the lineup for Friday’s game against the Edmonton Eskimos at Investors Group Field.

The linebacker has missed the last two games with what head coach Mike O’Shea called general malaise on Friday. Despite being sidelined, Wild still leads the team in tackles with 69.

Winnipeg will most likely not see the services of running back Andrew Harris and returner Quincy McDuffie this week as their injuries continue to heal. Both players are listed as backups on the Bombers’ 46-man roster. Harris and McDuffie are expected to be scratched prior to kickoff.

Also among the changes made by Winnipeg for the West Division matchup is the promotion of Terrence Frederick to full-time cornerback. The American takes over the spot after the team traded Johnny Adams to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Wednesday. The exchange came just a few days after Adams swatted at a potential game changing fumble instead of trying to recover it in Winnipeg’s loss to the Calgary Stampeders on Saturday.

Frederick already has 22 tackles, a sack and an interception in four games this season.

“Me and Johnny are goods friends outside this organization. I wish nothing but the best of luck to him. It is what it is. Just part of the business.”

Defensive linemen Justin Cole and Brandon Tennant also come onto the Bombers’ 46-man roster. Taken off are defensive linemen Shayon Green and Eric Martin as well as safety Teague Sherman.

Edmonton heads into Winnipeg four points back of the Bombers for third place in the West Division. The two teams have just five games remaining in the regular season.

“This is really a four point game,” said Bombers quarterback Matt Nichols. “It’s paramount to get these wins. Both teams know that so it’s definitely going to have a playoff feel to it.”
