Three dead in Samson First Nation house fire

Shortly after 4 am Sunday , Hobbema RCMP along with Muskwacis Fire and EMS crews were called to a house fire on the Samson First Nation.

Firefighters went in to the burning home and found three people inside. EMS determined all three were deceased.

The fire was contained and extinguished.

Fire investigators and RCMP Forensic and General Investigation Sections are conducting an investigation into the cause of the blaze.

One man and two women between 25 and 26 years old were found deceased inside. They were residents of the Maskwacis community.

They have been identified, but their names won’t be released until autopsies are performed and family members are notified.

RCMP say there is no evidence of criminal behavior in connection with the fire at this time.
