CLARINGTON, Ont. – A teenage driver and his six passengers are in hospital after an early morning crash east of Toronto.
Police say it happened just before 1 a.m. Saturday when the 18-year-old driver tried to pass another vehicle on Highway 2 in Clarington, Ont.
They say the car came into contact with the vehicle it was passing then veered out of control and ended up on a nearby lawn.
Police say some of the occupants were ejected and one is in critical condition.
None of the people in the other car were hurt.
Officers are looking into what caused the crash and say both weather and road conditions were good at the time.
