A group opposing the closure of an iconic Vancouver bowling alley is taking its cause to City Hall today.
The supporters claim the Varsity Ridge’s 5-pin lanes provide recreation for thousands of children and seniors who would have nowhere else to bowl if the alley closed down.

The popular facility is slated for redevelopment, with condos set to take over the property.
Cressey Development bought the land last year, and plans to build a five-storey residential building along with some retail space.
The same block also houses the landmark Ridge movie theatre.
