The B.C. Coroner’s Service has confirmed that two men are dead after a fiery crash on Highway 5-A near Kamloops.
Chief coroner Barb McLintock said the driver of a fuel truck and the driver of a semi died after the vehicles collided head on around 7 p.m. Friday south of Stump Lake Ranch.
She said one body was found late Friday night and the other was pulled from the smoldering wreckage early Saturday. She said investigators have no reason to believe there was anyone else in the vehicles at the time of the crash.

The crash ignited an explosion and both vehicles burst into flames. A nearby patch of grass caught fire but was put out by emergency crews.

The crash sparked a forest fire and the B.C Forest Service is now on scene to stop the spreading flames. The highway was closed overnight, but is has since been re-opened to single lane alternating traffic.
