More than $300k raised during STARS Air Ambulance fundraiser

Participants in the ‘Rescue on the Island’ fundraiser Friday raised $330,000 for the non-profit Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS).

The fourth annual event saw eight participants taken to Carter Island Friday morning.

The participants were paired with a STARS crew member and weren’t allowed to leave the island until their personal fundraising goal was met.

“As a not-for-profit organization, STARS relies on community support and donations,” Else Fenton, executive director of the STARS Foundation in Manitoba said in a release

  • Kevin Comte: VP Sales and Marketing, Enns Brothers
  • Justin Swandel: Realtor, Terracon Development
  • Richard Cloutier: News Director, 680 CJOB
  • Brad Lawson: President, Clark’s Paultry
  • John Oades: Fleet Manager, Beaver Trucking
  • Anupam Kothari: President, Kothari Group
