Participants in the ‘Rescue on the Island’ fundraiser Friday raised $330,000 for the non-profit Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS).
The fourth annual event saw eight participants taken to Carter Island Friday morning.
The participants were paired with a STARS crew member and weren’t allowed to leave the island until their personal fundraising goal was met.

“As a not-for-profit organization, STARS relies on community support and donations,” Else Fenton, executive director of the STARS Foundation in Manitoba said in a release

- Kevin Comte: VP Sales and Marketing, Enns Brothers
- Justin Swandel: Realtor, Terracon Development
- Richard Cloutier: News Director, 680 CJOB
- Brad Lawson: President, Clark’s Paultry
- John Oades: Fleet Manager, Beaver Trucking
- Anupam Kothari: President, Kothari Group
