Six figure donation for St. Thomas More Chair

On Tuesday, St. Thomas More College (STM) announced a $1-million donation from Leslie and Irene Dubé to create Saskatchewan’s first Chair for Catholic Studies.

“We are strong believers in the importance of a College that encourages students to explore both faith and reason,” said Irene Dubé.

The Leslie and Irene Dubé Chair for Catholic Studies will foster the advancement of Catholic knowledge and education, promote ecumenical dialogue and advance awareness of the great faith traditions.

STM President Dr. Terry Downey thanked the Dubés for their leadership gift that will create the second Chair for Catholic Studies in western Canada.

Today’s donation will go towards the $6-million Creating More campaign which was created to also raise expansion funds for STM’s 75-year-old building.
