Parents and students are celebrating a surprise decision by the Vancouver School Board this morning.
On Thursday night, trustees decided to remove Britannia Secondary School from the list of potential permanent closures.

Many had been surprised to see it on there in the first place.
The final list of school closures won’t be approved until Sept. 26. The Vancouver School Board is considering closing up to 11 other schools.
