Crews are hard at work, adding the finishing touches to the starting line of Montreal’s annual Grand Prix Cycliste.

Elite cyclists from all over the world will be rolling into Montreal Sunday for the seventh edition of  Montreal’s top cycling race.

The race begins on Parc Avenue, with riders lapping a 12.1-km circuit through city streets.

The course,  which organizers describe as intimidating, features a 1.8-km lung-busting climb up Voie Camillien-Houde, with an average grade of eight per cent.

Cyclists repeat the circuit 17 times for a total of 205.7 km, roughly five hours of intense cycling.

But as with any major cycling event it comes with road closures and detours.
