Circle Drive South Project might conclude next year

The city of Saskatoon says the Circle Drive South Project might not be complete until next year.

In late June, the completion date was pushed back from September 30th to the end of October, but now the expected fall opening is a maybe.

“Now we have a $300-million project that’s going to sit idle for another winter,” said mayoral candidate Tom Wolfe.

The city says despite good conditions in September, wet weather from May and June has significantly offset the construction schedule.

The construction company, Graham Flatiron Joint Venture, could be facing a daily penalty of $10-thouand that the city could impose past September 30th.

The city has not yet had those discussions with the contractor.
