Grey Cup train stops in Saskatoon

Saskatoon welcomed the Grey Cup today as it made a stop on a custom retrofitted train while travelling across Canada.

The CFL Grey Cup 100 Train includes a museum car and a team car that celebrates the special place today’s CFL teams have in their local communities.

Fans showed up at the tracks by Fairlight Drive before noon to have their picture taken with the trophy and to meet some football heroes.

Former Saskatchewan Roughriders from the 1966 Grey Cup championship team were at the event.

On Friday, the locomotive stopped in Regina, where the 2013 Grey Cup will take place.   

The CFL trophy will roll through Yorkton tomorrow as it completes its one hundred stop tour.

A century of Canadian Football League history stopped in Saskatoon today with roaring fans ready to hop aboard.
