Sanford school fires causes millions in damage

Students will not be going back to school in Sanford next week as planned.

The blaze at the elementary school in the community just west of Winnipeg Thursday caused $2,000,000 in damage.

In a statement Red River Valley School Division superintendent Pauline Lafond-Bouchard said classes will be pushed back to September 12th.

“Plans are being made to relocate classes with every effort being made to keep students and staff in the community in Sanford.”
