A deer with wire wrapped around its body is keeping a Langley neighbourhood on high alert.

The Critter Care Wildlife Society in Langley received a report from business owners in the Brookswood area, around 41 Avenue and 203 Street, saying they had seen this deer and her two fawns roaming around.

“She’s still quite mobile, which is good,” said Angela Fontana with Critter Care.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

However the concern is that the wire is going to continue cutting into her skin so they want to locate her and help her as soon as possible.

“She does frequent a ravine in Brookswood,” said Fontana, “so we believe she may have been walking around in there and got tangled somehow.”

The plan is to find her and then call a Conservation Officer to come out and subdue her a little so they can untangle her.

“We need to have eyes on her before we call conservation to come out,” said Fontana.

If anyone sees the deer they are asked to call Critter Care at 604-530-2064.
