Last Fall the Calgary Police Service (CPS) launched the Vulnerable Person Self-Registry, which is a voluntary program for Calgarians who might require specific care in an emergency.

Police said 470 Calgarians have registered since Oct. 2015, sharing information that might help first responders in a disaster or an emergency.

Participants give their physical description, photo and special instructions pertaining to their condition.

In a news release Thursday, police said that database is being accessed by first responders several times a week.

The registration must be completed annually to maintain current records. If you would like to learn more click here.
