UPDATE: Vancouver Police have turned the investigation over to the Major Crime Section. They will investigate how the explosives ended up at the storage facility.
A building in Vancouver is behind police tape this morning after the discovery of a possible explosive device.
Investigators have blocked off the alley behind the building at 7th Avenue and Columbia Street in Mount Pleasant.
It follows reports of possible explosives at the site and the first report came in Tuesday afternoon. Office workers in the area were originally told to go home in the early afternoon on Tuesday but were allowed back in the building Wednesday morning.
They said police told them there was a suspicious package in one of the self storage facility in the building. Two controlled explosions also took place on Tuesday.
There is no word yet on what police found or if anyone has been injured.
