A 30-year-old woman from Chilliwack is dead following a multi-car crash that blocked traffic on Highway 1 for most of the day.
The accident, which involved three vehicles, happened at about 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning in the westbound lanes, just west of Lickman Road in Chilliwack.
Police confirmed the death of the woman and said two other people were taken to hospital with minor injuries and later released.
A Dodge Ram, Volkswagen Golf and a third vehicle that ended upside down in the ditch were involved in the crash.
An RCMP collision expert was on the scene investigating the cause of the crash. The B.C. Coroners Service is also involved in the case.
No other information is available at this time.
