Fatal ‘gas-and-dash’ security video released

TORONTO – Security video of a fatal gas-and-dash at a Toronto gas station last weekend has been released by police.

Jayesh Prajapati, 44, died Saturday night after he was hit by an SUV at the Shell station on Marlee Avenue and Roselawn Avenue where he worked while trying to stop the driver.

The video shows the suspect pumping gas into containers and his vehicle before driving away.

Max Edwin Tutiven, 39, is wanted for second degree murder and is described as white with a dark complexion, 5’5″, 220-230 lbs., with dark hair.

On Thursday, Ontario MPP Mike Colle introduced a private member’s bill at Queen’s Park calling for a mandatory prepayment system at gas stations.

The vehicle used is described as a 2000-2003, silver or beige, four-door Isuzu Rodeo.

The vehicle may have stolen plates attached to it and police believe he may have fled to Montreal.
