The hearings are part of the first step to give the project a green light and ensure the public’s opinions are heard.

At the helm of the project is the Caisse de Dépôt, which is also looking for feedback via its survey.

Summary of the REM project

  • 67 kilometres of automated light rail trains
  • 24 stations across the island, including Laval and Longueuil
  • 20 hours of operation per day, seven days a week
  • $5.5 billion (estimated) investment
  • Finalization of the project is slated for 2021

BAPE encourages the public to attend the hearings at one of its locations, either in person downtown or via video conference in Baie-D’Urfé, Brossard or Deux-Montagnes.
