Toronto Hydro says power has been restored to 4,700 customers following an outage in Scarborough Tuesday morning.

The outage was reported just after 6 a.m. with the affected areas being surrounded by Steeles Ave. E. in the north, Victoria Park to the west, Highway 401 to the south and Midland Ave. to the east.

A Hydro official said crews assessed the scene but have not disclosed the cause of the power outage.

“We have our control centre who also does something called remote switching and that allows them to reroute power to isolate the problem areas and restore power to the majority of customers in the neighbourhood,” said Toronto Hydro spokesperson Jessica Martin.
