The child was taken to hospital with two fractured femurs but is expected to make full recovery.
Police say an adult was in the apartment at the time of the incident.
“To prevent potential falling accidents, please make sure furniture is not placed under open windows and children cannot reach any open windows,” reads a statement from Abbotsford police.
Police say even an opening as small as four inches can be dangerous.
The incident took place on the 32000 block of Mt. Waddington.
