Quebec provincial police are investigating after an armed assault at the Rivière-des-Prairies Detention Centre Saturday night.
Sgt. Gino Paré, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec said the attack happened at 9:30 p.m.

The victim, a 26-year-old man, was rushed to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said he was attacked with an edge weapon, but would not release more details.
The investigation into the incident continues.
