Two people dead after collisions in Toronto and Markham

Police in the Toronto and the York region are investigating a pair of early morning collisions that killed two people.

Toronto police and paramedics were called to the Steeles Avenue East and Reesor Road area in east Scarborough shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday after three vehicles collided causing a pick-up truck to burst into flames.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and paramedics took two others to hospital with minor injuries.

Meanwhile, emergency crews were called to Enterprise Boulevard, just east of Birchmount Road, in Markham just minutes earlier after a motorcycle was involved in a collision.

The male driver was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Officers are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the collisions.
