He said a truck pulled up next to him and a man grabbed him.

The boy said he was afraid, but saw his opportunity to escape when the truck sped through the back lot of a commercial area.

“He was going pretty fast so I just unlocked the door and jumped out,” he said, explaining that the risk of injury was worth seeing his family again.
“I just didn’t want him to see me or get kidnapped again.”
The boy said he ran, hid and called his stepdad on his Gizmo Gadget, a smartwatch for kids.

Stepdad Jimmy Green said the boy was “scared out of his own skin” when he found him, but commended him for “keeping his wits about him.”
Green reported the incident to police and they are investigating. Calls to the Saratoga Springs Police Department were not returned by the time of publication.
