Morinville RCMP are investigating after a body was found in a rural area northwest of Edmonton Tuesday.
Police said the body was found in an outdoor area Tuesday morning. A heavy police presence remained on scene in the area of Range Road 262A and Township Road 540, west of St. Albert, Tuesday afternoon.

The person’s identity has not been released.
The incident is under investigation by the Morinville RCMP and the RCMP’s Major Crime Unit from Edmonton.
