Waywayseecappo First Nation residents are cleaning up the damage after a tornado ripped through the community Monday evening.
At least one home was destroyed and seven others damaged. No injuries have been reported.
Eric Mentuck, who is a Waywayseecappo First Nation resident, caught the tornado on video.
“It was about 5 p.m., and we saw a real low cloud moving quickly. After 15 minutes that cloud formed into a funnel and touched down. It then went back up and came down again. The second time it went down is when it turned really dangerous.”

Mentuck said the tornado went through the valley and destroyed a home, and even turned over a bus in someone’s yard.
“It happened really fast,” he said.
“The tornado warnings that were on TV, they helped us, because the tornado happened about 10 minutes after the warning went on.”
